Field of Miracles

When people think of Pisa, the first image that comes to mind is the Leaning Tower. It is world famous – and there is nothing wrong with that. However, there is more to the city than just the tower. If an opportunity arises – visit the tower, but also discover ALL the Field of Miracles has to offer, like the Duomo, the Baptistery of San Giovanni, the Camposanto (a necropolis complete with a courtyard garden), the Sinopie Museum (sketches of frescoes) and medieval city walls. Of course when you are there, be the ultimate tourist and pose for the iconic “Look at me, I am holding the tower up!” shot. It is fun to get the pose just right!

Pisa also has a beautiful river promenade and great winter markets. Many Pisans sell their own beautifully crafted clothes, wood works, and jewelry. We love to stroll the city’s streets to see what we will find around the next corner. It is full of surprises. Once we came across the National Alpine Association Band marching along side the Field of Miracles. The musicians were good but their hats were better!

These two interesting buildings are also found in the Field of Miracles.

Pay the 2 Euros to visit the church! It's worth it.

One of the many beauties the necropolis houses!

The National Alpine Association Band marching onward. Great hats?!

The Infamous Leaning Tower of Pisa (nice skies eh?)

Einstein approved! A thumb way up! (If you want the tower to yourself, visit the Sinopie Museum courtyard!)
